Spender Saturday: A Motivator for Making More Money
Relax, God is in control....
To start a new business in any economic climate can be scary. Especially with grown up responsibilities. You know, your kids, your momma, your gateman, your driver, your church, your friend's elder brother who needs your help, your old classmate with a business idea, your pragmatic plans for your future, your clothes and shoes (important stuff!), your pension, your debts......obviously the list continues! Bearing this in mind, our salaries seem mighty comfortable. But you have to remember nothing great ever came out of being comfortable.
This is not to say salaried jobs can't be 'uncomfortable'! What I'm saying is that uncomfortable is the place where you find purpose. There is something great, an inner peace to finding one's purpose. This exercise of finding purpose can seem tricky but as a child of God (and as women!), we are blessed with intuition. We just know! Let the Holy Spirit guide you in finding purpose. When you find what you want to do, there is an assuredness that comes with this discovery. No external or internal factor can change it.
So even in a salaried job, once you find purpose, life doesn't seem tedious. This is because you know WHY you are doing what ever you are doing. When you find this 'spot' in your life, you will not need a long conversation about your purpose to convince anybody. You will find it absolutely pointless!
RUN WITH IT!
Once you know, its difficult to wait because anything else you do seems to be an anathema! Here is where your belief system comes into play. A pragmatist will say wait till you have accrued 6 months salary then start your business. A believer will say, from wherever you are right now, plan!
Its simple. Where you are right now is point A. Where you want to be is point B. Draw a line between these two points with timelines and milestones. This empowers you, gives you a reason to get up in the morning, to deal with all the daily madness. Because you know why.
In all of this, hold on to your faith. It takes pure adulterated grace to keep going when life pushes you.
When you make mistakes, to remember that 'all things work together for your good.'
When you don't know how to take your business to the next level, to remember that ' He will guide you continually, satisfy your soul and make fat thy bones. And you will be like a watered garden...'
When people tell you that you are wasting your life on a whim, to remember that 'you shall h believe the report of the Lord!'
Keep yourself God-conscious at all times. For we all know that the mind is the battle field, keep God enthroned there. Have faith, do not waver and you will surely succeed.
Never gauge you success by whatever your counterparts are accomplishing. Gauge your success by your own standards.
I take pleasure in reading about other businesses. The general consensus is at the time of inception that business idea was not popular. Do not believe unreservedly what others say about your business. It really is just that, YOUR BUSINESS.
Truly successful people have a personal conviction on an idea and run with it. And that's what we are called to be, the original, not the copy.
Beloved, your success is only a matter of time. It is already an established thing in heaven.
On a daily basis, we feature words of financial wisdom from different Smart Stewards members and sometimes from Guest Contributors. You'd be glad reading them. Enjoy!
